Title
A fast and automatic method to update the scene of disaster area by normal photos in three-dimensional environment
Abstract
In this paper we present a novel approach which will update the disaster area by photos taken by normal camera in three-dimensional environment. Normal photos don't contain any spatial information so it is hard to update the photos to the right area directly. In this paper we utilize an alternative method to obtain the spatial information which will construct a viewing frustum by the position and attitude of camera and let the viewing frustum intersect with the terrain surface to get the photos' covered area. And then we use the technique of multiple texture mapping and alpha texture blending to let the photos overlay the original base map at the correct position. And finally we have designed an image updating tool based on the proposed method in Direct 3D, which will provide us another good and less cost choice to update the disaster area as quickly as possible.
