Current enterprises spend much effort in obtaining precise models of their software engineering processes in order to improve the process capability of their or- ganization and to move one step forward in the CMM. The manual design of pro- cess models, however, is complicated, time-consuming, error-prone and the results are rapidly becoming out-dated; capabilities of humans in detecting discrepancies between the actual process and its model are limited. Thus, automatic techniques for deriving process models are very important. In this paper, we present an approach that exploits the user interaction with a doc- ument version management system for the automatic derivation of process models |
