Title
Expansion of an ITS Data Archive with Applications for Improving Spatial Analysis and Tracking Non-Recurrent Congestion
Abstract
Archived intelligent transportation systems data are becoming more crucial for metropolitan level traffic analysis, and can be useful for planners, operators, researchers, and users. This paper describes enhancements to an existing freeway data archive that includes the addition of increased spatial analysis capabilities. In addition the freeway database has been expanded to include incident data, enabling more attention being paid to travel time reliability and non-recurrent congestion caused by incidents. Finally, some additional plans for the future are described.
