Parallel Huffman Decoding with Applications to JPEG Files
Abstract
A simple parallel algorithm for decoding a Huffman encoded file is presented, exploiting the tendency of Huffman codes to resynchronize quickly, i.e. recovering after possible decoding errors, in most cases.
