Title
Integration of quality of service in distributed object systems
Abstract
Quality of Service (QoS) has been used in several contexts, especially in network protocols like ATM and RSVP. More recently, standardization work has started in the area of distributed object systems, like CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) and ODP (Open Distributed Processing). However, ne commercial solution supports full QoS properties like: modularity, observation, guarantee, negotiation, etc. After a brief state of the art, this paper describes are integration framework of QoS in CORBA based on ODP concepts and, in a more detailed way, its QoS definition language and its engineering model.
