Title
An Adaptive Automobile Control System Using Scheduling by Imprecise Computation and Multiagent-Based Traffic Information Exchange and Its Experimental Evaluation
Abstract
Recently, it is expected that traffic congestion in expresswaysis dissolved, and that safe and smooth traffic is realized. In this paper we propose an automobile control systembased on imprecise computation and multiagents. Theautomobile control system consists of sensors, mobile stationsand automobiles. Each mobile station gathers trafficinformation through sensors in an expressway, exchangesthe traffic information with other mobile stations through anetwork, and gives driving directions to every automobilein the expressway. Also we evaluate effects on traffic informationexchange in the automobile control of the proposedsystem by simulation experiments. Simulation results showthat the traffic information exchange in the proposed systemimproves performance, that is, the average speed of automobilesand the number of automobiles that arrive at theirdestinations.
