Title
Ubiquitous communication services based on effective knowledge deployment
Abstract
Provisioning high quality communication services in resourcescarce information environments, effective employment of various kinds of knowledge of human users/operators concerning diverse services and continually changing environments is necessary. We have been working on Knowledge Circulation Framework (KCF) to resolve such kind of issue. This framework aims to realize user-oriented and resource-aware services by deploying QoS control knowledge in the network. In this paper, we apply KCF to ubiquitous communication services. We realize KCF by using the concept of knowledge-based multiagent system. We also introduce a similarity metric to compare characteristics of different ubiquitous information environments. We applied KCF to the ubiquitous videoconference system and performed several experiments. The experimental results show that our system can provide better and more stable QoS, by improving the adaptability to the various types of environments.
