In this paper, we focus on the mobility management and its deployment issues. There are many proposed mobility management mechanisms. However, the deployment of such a mobility management has been facing difficulties and it is slower than it is initially expected. Therefore, we discuss the issues to boost the deployment process. We especially focus on the end-to-end approach, which can be mainly achieved by higher-layer implementation. With the end-to-end mobility management approach, we can explicitly separate the concept of session management and location management. Making use of this property of the end-to-end approach, we introduce a two-phase deployment scheme, which intends to avoid the use of static global address and the involvement of the multiple administrative domains to assist the personal use. |
