Title
Handover transparente para tráfego multimídia em uma arquitetura integrada WiMAX/IP/MPLS móvel
Abstract
The mobility management with QoS (Quality of Service) support is a major requirement to the success of next generation networks. With this goal in mind, this paper proposes a new architecture that integrates WiMAX (WorldWide Interoperability for Microwave Access) with Mobile IP and Mobile MPLS Multiprotocol Label Switching) protocols as well as a new algorithm was introduced to allow seamless handover. The main objective of the proposed algorithm is to minimize the impact on the quality level of ongoing applications during handover. This goal is achieved by reducing packet loss and packet delay in mobile situations. The proposed approach aims to provide QoS and QoE (Quality of Experience) support for real-time application during the movement of the Mobile Node (MN) to a new Base Station (BS). An anticipated handover technique is also supported to improve handover based on information about the MN's location and speed as well as the BS's signal strength. Simulation experiments were performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed solution in a combined WiMAX/IP/Mobile MPLS architecture.
