Title
Geo-spatial query based on extended SPARQL
Abstract
This paper adopts an approach for querying spatial semantic by building the Web Ontology language (OWL) format ontology and introducing extended SPARQL Protocol and RDF Query Language (SPARQL) to search spatial semantic relations. Semantic approaches need to be developed by ontology, so we use OWL to describe spatial information extracted by the large-scale map of Wuhan. The approach is illustrated by introducing a case study for using extended SPARQL to query geo-spatial ontology instances of Wuhan. The paper shows that making use of extended SPARQL to search OWL ontology instances can ensure the result's accuracy and applicability. The result also indicates constructing a geo-spatial semantic query system has positive efforts on forming spatial query and retrieval.
