Thermomagnetic recording uses local heating of ferromagnetic media to locally decrease coercivity and change saturation magnetization of the material and alleviate magnetization reversal. A modified Landau-Lifshitz equation is proposed as a phenomenological model to allow for changes in magnetization magnitude and is studied both analytically and numerically. |
