Title
Special track on Requirements Engineering: editorial message
Abstract
Requirements Eengineering is a branch of computer science that encompasses tasks that go into determining the requirements of a new or altered system, taking into account the possibly conflicting requirements of the various stakeholders, such as end users. The existing methods for requirements specification are far from being completely satisfactory, and requirements analysis is critical to the success of a project. Requirements must be measurable, testable, related to identified business needs or opportunities, and defined to a level of detail sufficient for system design. Independently of the nature of the software, the elicitation, analysis, negotiation, specification, validation and management of requirements are fundamental for the development of quality in complex software.
