Title
Benchmarking the PVM Group Communication Efficiency
Abstract
This paper presents the experimental data obtained from measurements of interprocess group communication under PVM environment. As stated in our previous paper on this subject [3] PVM group efficiency was rather low at the time of writing. Two years later we decided to benchmark the current PVM release (3.4.0) and compare the results to those obtained previously. Additionally we set out to compare the efficiency of PVM group communication between different host OS environments: Linux and Windows NT 4.0, both running on the same hardware platform.
