In service-oriented distributed systems, software servicesare located in different computers; such servicescollaborate with each other to carry out computationtasks. This paper presents design and implementation oflightweight software brokers for quality of services inservice-oriented distributed systems. Such brokers helpclients in a distributed system to use software servicesprovided by other distributed software components withdesired qualities in terms of performance and reliability.The performance software broker can dynamicallydiscover the software service in a distributed system thatcan provide the best performance according to theclientýs functional and performance requirements. Thereliability software broker can provide fault tolerantservice to clients by dynamically migrating clientsýservice requests among multiple software services. Thesoftware brokers are implemented in Java Jini-baseddistributed systems |
