Unlike most approaches reported in the literature, our proposed algorithm is characterized by using the fuzzy logic method for feature representation of shot detection. Firstly, novel features are extracted in the compressed domain. Secondly, a fuzzy logic method is used to implement feature representation. Thirdly, multiple Support Vector Machines (SVMs) are constructed for further verification using features generated from the fuzzification process in step two. Our algorithm combines the merits of the generalization ability of the SVM and the comprehensibility of the fuzzy logic. We have carried out extensive experiments using the data from TRECVID07. Our proposed algorithm achieved very good detection results compared with TRECVID07 algorithms and its run-speed is 4 times faster than real-time video play. |
