Title
Nonlinear Multiuser Parameters Estimation By The Scaled Unscented Filter In Cdma Systems
Abstract
In CDMA wireless communications, joint channel coefficient and time-delay tracking has been important research issue. One way of time delay estimation has been via regular Kalman filtering settings, where the delay parameters are assumed Gaussian distributed. Due to the highly non-linearity of the Kalman filtering structure and non-Gaussian nature of the delay parameters, a recently introduced particle filtering technique, which bases its origin in system control field and is known as the Scaled Unscented Filter (SUF), has received much attention in the literature. We applied the SUF filtering to the Kalman filtering structure for the joint estimation of the channel coefficients and time delays under CDMA environment. In order to minimize possibility of covariance matrix being non-positive semi-definite, we applied SUF filtering to the Kalman filtering structure and showed that it outperformed other previous filtering, such as the Unscented Filtering (UF) and conventional Kalman filters.
