The main objective of this work is to improve the quality of the results provided by search engines in the Internet. In order to get this aim, we have developed the metasearcher FISS (Fuzzy Interrelations and Synonymy based Searcher) that incorporates a soft clustering component whose similarity function considers the co- occurrence of concepts of the retrieved documents. The metasearcher uses an extension of the vector space model, FIS-CRM, which provides a mechanism to represent the concepts contained in a document. This model is based on the study of two types of fuzzy interrelations (synonymy and generality). The final result of the search process is a set of groups of conceptually related web pages. |
