Title
An architecture to foster the integration between Moodle and social networking sites
Abstract
Social networking sites are great tools for aggregating and bringing people together, in the sense they offer various forms of interaction. This article defends the idea that social networking sites have great potential to expand education beyond the classrooms. In this article, we discuss the main advantages and difficulties of using SNS for educational purposes, and then we propose an architecture based on software agents to perform the integration between Moodle and different social networking sites. From this architecture the professors have a new way to communicate with their students, and the students can use a familiar and attractive tool to study, and possibly become more participative in the teaching process.
