In the past few years model driven development has been gaining momentum and one of its leading initiatives, the Model Driven Architecture (MDA), has been the center of many studies. An important aspect in model driven development is how to model the persistence of data to drive the generation of persistence code. In this paper we show how three MDA tools implement a few MDA concepts and qualitatively analyze how these tools deal with modeling object persistence. The analysis is made through a simple case study in generating code from a model of an Internet movie store. We also analyze some of the necessary modifications when modeling systems for these tools. |
