Title
A novel load balancing algorithm based on binary particle swarm optimization for heterogeneous integrated networks.
Abstract
Since existing load balancing algorithms designed for heterogeneous integrated networks have failed to consider the service priority and the network resource sufficiently, a load balancing algorithm based on binary particle swarm optimization (BPSO) is proposed from access control perspective. Firstly, considering different requirements of communication services, the optimization model of the network access control is built. The method sets the maximum entropy of the load rate as the optimization goal. Then, BPSO algorithm is employed to maximize the entropy of the load rate, and the optimal access solution is obtained. Simulation results demonstrate that the services with different priorities are differently served, and loads among the overall heterogeneous system can be effectively balanced. Furthermore, while the service blocking probability can be dramatically decreased, the resource utilization of overall heterogeneous system is greatly improved.
