This paper introduces a layered knowledge based vision system for industri a7 environments. We focus on model building for 3-D objects using a cornrnerci a1 CAD system and expressed in the vision based representation form. The vision based model involves information e xtracted from DXF description. The feature information from CAD model is reeresented as a CAP based frame.
