Title
A Space-Continuous Temperature Calculation using an Analogue Hardware Description Language
Abstract
Simulations of space-continuous syatems using an analogue simulator with implemented hardware description languages (HDL) have been presented. The estimations of speed and accuracy are evaluated to prove capabilities of general analogue simulators when simulating transient and space-continuous thermal fields and compared with results obtained from commercial FE simulators. The functionality of the simulator permits easy coupling of discrete (electronics) and space-continuous (finite elements) models and reveals accuracy, which is satisfactory for most applications (relative errors <2%). The objective of this work is to prepare a ground for simulation of fully coupled space-continuous and discrete device models in hybrid simulation environments.
