Title
Spatio-temporal Geo-Informatic Tupu for urban growth in Nanjing city
Abstract
Searching for urban growth boundary, understanding the process of urban expansion and analyzing the evolution characteristics are of great practical significance to understand the city's historical evolution and to make the scientific planning. Meanwhile, remote sensing, geographical information science, Geo-Informatic Tupu provide the efficient means in such study. The aim of this paper is to discuss the initial work of establishment and analysis of Geo-Informatic Tupu in urban land use change. Taking Nanjing as research area, establishment and application of Geo-informatic Tupu for urban growth is discussed in this dissertation. Based on the analysis of temporal evolution maps and spatial characteristic maps, Nanjing urban expansion characteristics are recognized, which contains the whole evolution in time series and spatial difference in multi-districts and multi-orientations. The urban expansion pattern and its changes in Nanjing city since 1949 are summarized for future references.
