Title
Policy-Based route optimization for network mobility of next generation wireless networks
Abstract
Recently, due to the recent advance of ubiquitous wireless networking technology, there has been a great deal of research efforts for seem-less support of the movement of mobile networks. The IETF NEMO WG's approach to network mobility has the so called ‘pinball routing problem,' and the most of research attempts to solve this problem has limitations in the efficiency of both signaling and data communication. In this paper, we have presented policy-based mobility management architecture for next generation ubiquitous wireless networks, which can provide faster signaling and data transmission. In the proposed architecture, either care-of-address or home address of the root mobile router can be used as a binding address, which is decided by the policy on the route optimization. We present the architecture, model of the policy, and management procedures. Finally, the comparative analysis is provided by simulation to sow the efficiency of the proposed approach.
