This paper presents a new algorithm, basedon an EM (Expectation-Maximization) formulation, forML (maximum likelihood) sequence estimation over unknownISI (inter-symbol interference) channels with randomchannel coefficients which have a Gauss-Markov fasttime-varying distribution. By using the EM formulationto marginalize over the channel coefficient distribution,maximum-likelihood estimates of the transmitted sequenceare obtained. This EM algorithm is shown to perform better,in terms of ... |
