Title
Lithological mapping from hyperspectral data by improved use of spectral angle mapper.
Abstract
•The spectral variability and separability of the rock types were experimentally examined.•The effect of spectral variability on lithological mapping with the SAM using a mean reference spectrum were analyzed.•Two methods of selecting reference spectra used in SAM are proposed for lithological mapping.•The proposed methods improved lithological mapping by reducing and accommodating spectral variability.
