Title
Towards a Traceability Visualisation Tool
Abstract
Traceability support various activities of the software development process and the quality of the traceability information influences the quality of the system that is been developed. A sophisticated traceability approach is a key aspect of maturity models such as CMMI and SPICE. Various visualisation techniques have been developed to support the representation of traceability information such as traceability matrices, graphs and tree structures. However, these techniques do not scale well on large amounts of artifacts and often do not provide additional functionality to present complementary information. This paper presents work in progress towards the development of a visualisation tool to extend our traceability approach. This paper includes a literature review of traceability visualisation and a set of high level requirements to a traceability visualisation tool.
