Title
Device-to-device communication as an underlay to LTE-advanced networks
Abstract
Device-to-Device(D2D) communication is a new technology that allows terminals communicate with each other directly by reusing the radio resources under the control of the system. It can reduce the transmit power of the terminals, and increase the spectrum efficiency of communication system, which solves the problem of spectrum scarcity to a certain extent.Comparing with other similar technologies that use non-licensed frequency,D2D communication has the advantage of controlled interference. This paper introduces the key elements of D2D communication, explains the necessity of its application and usable scenarios, describes the advantages of D2D communication comparing with other similar technologies, and points out the key issues of its application.
