Title
Practical Implementation of Identity Based Encryption for Secure E-mail Communication.
Abstract
Identity Based Encryption (IBE) constitutes an alternative cryptographic method to the conventional public key systems. The main feature of IBE is that public keys are not transmitted over the network, but they are efficiently computed from the receivers’ unique identity information; thus, the system is certificateless. This paper presents a complete implementation of a practical IBE infrastructure for secure e-mail communication. As far as we know, this is the first open-source attempt to simultaneously provide a fully functional and user-friendly IBE system together with a trustworthy Private Key Generator.
