Title
Description and Analysis of Existing Knowledge Management Frameworks
Abstract
There is a growing recognition in the business community about the importance of managing knowledge. One obstacle to approaching knowledge management (KM) activity formally or deliberately is that many organizations are still struggling to comprehend the KM concept. To help understand this emerging phenomenon, researchers have proposed a variety of KM frameworks, models, and perspectives. This paper presents a summary and comparative analysis of ten KM frameworks. Each addresses certain KM elements. However, none appears to be complete or subsume the others. There is a need for a more comprehensive and unified framework describing the nature of KM.
