We study the contents of Christian prayers placed on the online prayer wall of 24-7 Prayer using Ap Siôn's general framework for analyzing intercessory and supplicatory prayer. Our results are compared to studies of the content of prayers on physical prayer cards and to the only other study of online prayer. We show that, in comparison to offline prayer, online prayer focuses on growth, is more concerned with urgent matters, is author-centric, and is concerned with concrete objectives. |
