Title
Error correction in laser scanner three-dimensional measurement by two-axis model and coarse-fine parameter search
Abstract
A technique is presented for correction of measurement errors in a three-dimensional (3D) laser scanner system. First, a model of the systematic errors is developed based on the geometry of the scanning system. Parameter values are then iteratively searched to minimize an evaluation function which represents deviation of measured values from the model. It is shown that this method results in measurement precision suitable for practical use.
