Title
Advanced Web Session Provider for Suspensible E-services
Abstract
Long running transactions and interaction intensive applications are quite common today on the Internet. The services offered by these applications are often challenged with user mobility and interruptability. In many cases, users of these services need to be able to finish their transactions from different clients just as their other business activities require them moving from places to places. Advanced Web Session Provider takes advantage of session management to facilitate service developers to meet such requirements. It extends the traditional session management so that sessions can be re-identified and restored for user after a service is suspended intentionally. It is not tied to any profiling facilities so that different privacy policy can be used when resuming and transferring sessions. The server-based session migration brings the general mechanism to sustain the above features in service development.
