The costs of Facsimile transmissions are analysed for several different classes of equipment, communications services, and levels of usage. It is shown that for peak time usage the published tariffs of the new public data networks are reasonably economic; for off-peak usage, it is difficult to compete with the Public Switched Telephone Network. For high traffic rates, solutions based on leased lines are still the most economical. |
