Title
A methodology for supporting long-term nuclear energy development decisions-a case of Taiwan
Abstract
A methodology to support long-term nuclear energy development decisions in Taiwan is proposed. Based on the framework of a decision-support system, the study focuses on the development of a multiobjective decision submodel in the model base subsystem. Due to the complexity and dependency of the variables, the decision model is in the quartic form. The study shows that the proposed method can be used to linearize the model. To facilitate effective decision-making, a compromise programming technique is adopted to integrate the multiple objectives. Concerning the uncertainty and instability of long-term planning, a sensitivity analysis of the proposed model is presented with proofs. The study shows that the proposed model can support the decisions imbedded in long-term planning, and the design of the system is easily modified and user-friendly. However, the efficiency is restricted by the adoption of the LINDO software package to obtain a global optimum
