This paper presents the preliminary stages of the design of the TunTool, a software tool that supports the Tuning Methodology, a methodology used for re-engineering academic programmes of study using the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The paper starts by addressing the limitations of applying manually the aforementioned methodology vs. the advantages of having a tool, thus identifying the user requirements of the tool. It then presents its user interface design, giving screenshots of the tool that match the described functionality. The paper also discusses a relational database design that will underpin the development of the tool. Finally, the expected tool system architecture is briefly explained. |
