We propose a method for reusing and modifyinga deductive database. The need for such techniquesoccurs when new rulebased applicationsdiffer only slightly from existing ones or when anapplication is to be incrementally updated. Suchtechniques are particularly important when reprogrammingis expensive or unreliable.
