Title
A novel model for the internet worm propagation
Abstract
We present a novel worm propagation model for the Internet to analyze and predict the spreading behavior of worms. In this model, a new host state, Exposed, is introduced into this model and the variable infection rate is adopted. The dynamical equation is also built and verified by the MATLAB simulation program. In addition, the new model is compared with the famous Two-Factor worm propagation model. Finally, the influence of model parameters on the worm proliferation behavior is analyzed and tested. Current results provide fruitfully theoretical foundations for us to effectively control the worm outbreak on the Internet.
