The Information Management System (IMS) was one of the first program products offered by IBM. From its inception in a North American Rockwell and IBM joint study in the 1960s, the product has evolved into the preeminent transaction processing database management system (DBMS). Throughout its history, IMS has remained the leader in DBMS technology. |
