So far, performance measuresfor real time systems did not receive much attention. An assessmentof the few existing benchmarking methods for real time systemswill reveal that they are highly inappropriate. Taking a closerlook into the fundamental issues of real time systems it willbecome clear, that for hard real time systems qualitative characteristicsare much more important than quantitative measures. The majorqualitative performance criteria are compiled. Systems fulfilingthe qualitative aspects may then be compared on the basis ofcosts. |
