Title
Filter dials: combine filter criteria, see how much data is available
Abstract
Increasing amounts of information are being made available as RDF datasets. While a variety of techniques for finding and browsing single resources from such datasets exists, getting an idea of what data is generally available in a given RDF graph is often problematic. With filter dials, we propose a novel visualization that shows the sizes of various result sets based on different combinations of filter criteria in a compact way. Result sets of one filter dial can be used as input for another filter dial, thereby forming complex chained filter expressions. After the description of the concept, a brief example based on bibliographical data is presented.
