New types of programming environments that support both object-oriented and knowledge-based programming have emerged. They have the potential to provide a wide range of sophisticated programming constructs to bridge the gap between the problem and the solution domains. As these environments support not only O-O but also knowledge-based features, general O-O analysis and design methods are inadequate when used with these environments. The mapping between O-O design models and the new types of environments is examined, with ObjectIQ 2.1 used as an example. |
