Title
Integrating joint reviews with automotive SPICE assessments results
Abstract
The continuous changes in customer requirements as well as theever-increasing market-driven demand for innovation make automotive softwareprojects success strongly dependent on the customer-supplier communicationand co-operation throughout the software life cycle. Joint reviews andsoftware process assessments (mostly performed according to the AutomotiveSPICE model) are popular means used by car manufacturers and their suppliersof software-intensive components to face such a situation. Often these two resource-consuming techniques are performed separately, without mutual supportor interaction. This paper presents an approach to integrating joint reviews withsoftware process assessment results. The effectiveness of joint reviews dependson the degree of car manufacturer's knowledge and understanding of the supplier'sway of proceeding in software development. We show how assessmentresults can be used as input to joint reviews to support car manufacturers inconducting joint reviews effectively.
