Title
An Advanced Function for the Supervisory System of an Electrical Distribution Substation: An Application using Colored Petri Nets
Abstract
This paper proposes an advanced function for the supervisory system of an electrical distribution substation. The advanced function is defined as a Fault Diagnosis System (FDS) that seeks to identify and to locate faults in substations from the analysis and filtering of information made available by the supervisory system. The proposed FDS provides the electric power system operators a reduced volume of necessary and accurate information, causing the task of fault diagnosis less stressful and faster. An implementation of the FDS function based on colored Petri nets was applied to the electric arrangement of the Beberibe substation of the electrical distribution utility COELCE - Companhia Energdtica do Ceard (Brazil).
