A framework for examining skill specialization, gender inequity, and career advancement in the information security field
Abstract
This paper presents an ongoing research project that examines career advancement barriers to women information security professionals. The study proposes to identify the skill sets critical for success in the information security area and to examine gender differences in specialized skill sets. The paper provides a brief review on IT workforce studies with a special focus on gender inequity problems. The research design and analytical methods are also presented.
