The latest promising technology called web services carries a potential to expand cooperation and collaboration in business networks. There are at least three common deployment types of web services and they are all very similar to current business practices. The economics of web services is heavily dependent on fixed costs thus forcing providers to increase the number of users to reach a point of profitability. This may be a decisive factor in using them with ERP solutions where vendors will have to increase their investments to make web services user-friendlier. |
