Title
Distributed Beamforming Using One Bit of Feedback: AWGN Analysis.
Abstract
In this paper, we analyze the impact of additive noise in the received signal strength (RSS) on the behavior of an iterative phase synchronization scheme for distributed beamforming. In particular, we derive an analytical expression which models the expected increase of the beamforming gain in such noisy scenarios. Furthermore, we show that noise prevents the algorithm from achieving full beamforming gain. We also assess, by means of computer simulations, the optimal number of RSS samples per iteration needed to attain the highest beamforming gain after convergence.
