Title
Performance evaluation of selective-border-casting zone routing protocol for ad-hoc networks
Abstract
A lot of research is going on in ad-hoc networks and many routing protocols have been proposed. But, their performance depends on network scale and topology change. One well-known routing protocol for ad-hoc networks is the Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP), which has better performance than other protocols. However, many useless control packets are sent in the network. In this paper, we propose a Selective Bordercasting Zone Routing Protocol (SBZRP) to reduce the network load by limiting the number of control packets when the protocol searches for a new route. The performance evaluation shows that SBZRP has a good behaviour and better performance than ZRP.
