In this paper, we put forward a new Marching Cube algorithm based on the way of extraction and expression of multiresolution isosurfaces. It can solve the problem of too much and too meticulous triangular meshes in traditional Marching Cube algorithm at single resolution. At the same time, under the users' requests, it can apply various precisions to different regions of the object, to get a compromise path between rendering time and image precision. Our algorithm goes as: firstly, begins with low resolution images, and gradually extract high precision isosurfaces; then, build a mapping series from low resolution isosurfaces to high resolution ones to achieve multiresolution rendering; finally, establish the corresponding relationship between different resolution isosurfaces and images. Specially, the algorithm raises a new 3D image encoding way; recursive subdivision wavelet encoding, and becomes more suitable to extract multiresolution isosurfaces. |
