A new method derived from the Frost filter kernel for SAR (synthetic aperture radar) image speckle reduction is introduced. In the speckle reduction procedure, both the statistical information of the central pixel in the filter window and that of the neighborhood pixels are used. The experimental results on ERS-1 PRI images demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method compared to other common filters. |
